THE WEATHER AND SAFETY

What if the weather is bad?

Bad weather means, in the case of De Saunaboot, too much wind. Because the boat is quite large, strong winds can make it difficult to steer. Additionally, too much wind makes the water rough, which would make sauna bathing uncomfortable. Rain, cold, and heat are not an issue. We will always monitor the weather closely. If it is forecasted that it will be too windy or thunderstorms are expected, we will contact you as soon as possible to reschedule your booking to another date. Since the weather can sometimes be unpredictable, this may even happen right before departure. Ultimately, we decide whether the boat can set sail or not. If the boat cannot sail, there are two options: we can choose a new date together, or De Saunaboot can be used from the harbor. In that case, the boat stays moored at the dock, but you can still use the sauna and take a dip in the harbor water. We will assess whether using the boat from the harbor is safe at that time. However, you are always free to reschedule to another date if you prefer. If the weather turns while you're on the water with De Saunaboot, we will contact you to ensure you return to the harbor as soon as possible. If necessary, we will come to pick you up and guide you back.

Can De Saunaboot be rented year-round?

Yes. Even in the middle of winter, you can take De Saunaboot out (if you're brave enough). Note: From October to February, we do not sail in the evening due to the darkness.

What do I bring?

We recommend bringing swimwear, a bathrobe, a water bottle, and slippers.
